Our Approach

Psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) differs from traditional therapy in that it focuses more on building practical life skills and promoting independence rather than primarily addressing emotional issues through talk-based methods. While therapy often targets insight, emotional healing, and mental health symptoms, PSR works to improve social skills, coping strategies, decision-making, and daily functioning in real-world settings.

For adolescents, PSR is especially beneficial because it helps them develop age-appropriate life skills, manage behavior, improve relationships, and increase their confidence. It supports them in navigating school, home, and peer environments more effectively—laying a strong foundation for long-term success and emotional resilience.

How PSR is Provided
At The Rootway Project, PSR is delivered one-on-one by trained specialists who meet with youth in their natural environments—at home, in the community, or other everyday settings. Sessions are tailored to each child's unique needs and focus on practical goals like emotional regulation, social interaction, problem-solving, and daily living skills. We work closely with families, schools, and other supports to ensure consistent growth and meaningful progress in real-life situations.

OUR TEAM

The Rootway Project was founded in 2025 by Meghan and Nathan Samuels with a shared passion for supporting adolescents through life’s toughest challenges. Based in Utah, our mission is to empower youth with the tools, skills, and confidence they need to grow strong roots for lifelong success. With backgrounds in mental health, youth services, and community support, we created The Rootway Project to provide high-quality psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) that meets kids where they are—at home, in school, and in the community.
